What do you think made you take the leap to sell your artwork?
Definitely encouragement from my peers! That boost of confidence from other creators really helped me get my pieces out there.
What do you love most about this art form?
I love the ability to preserve my flowers and leaves from my garden in its own little time capsule. Resin makes my florals stand still and remain timeless.
What helps you work?
Music really helps me work! I listen to music while I plan out my compositions, mix my resin, and pour. Music helps me keep a calm mood or even gives me energy when I need it.
What is your biggest challenge with this medium?
Biggest challenge is definitely top coating 3D objects. I always miss one spot and then have to do a new layer. Sometimes the layers are endless but definitely worth it!
What is the best advice you can give a new artist?
For new artists, I recommend to do thorough research on safety precautions/PPE with resin. At minimum, wear a respirator and gloves while working with resin.
What do you for fun besides art?
In my free time I love to go fishing and hiking with friends. There’s something about being away in nature where I can just breathe easy.
Who is your favorite artist?
My favorite artist is Caravaggio as his deeply darkened pieces draw always draw me in. I’m always in awe with his ability to tell a story with his paint brush. I’ve always been so inspired by his work!
I am also an oil painter and art teacher! I am always immersed in all forms of art and I enjoy it very much!
